31 Months…

JOY

From the moment you wake up, smiling and laughing, you fill our every moment with pure joy. I’ve never known such happiness. You find the good in everything and show me how to delight in the most ordinary things.

You continue to grow and develop into a beautiful little girl. A few weeks ago you decided that you only like to wear dresses… shaky dresses! Moments after you wake up each morning you ask if you can put a dress on. Then, when you are dressed you twirl around and ask for your matching bow! You ask us “how do I look?” with a big grin on your face. You know you are beautiful!

You love to read books. You get so excited when we read the Bible each night. We have been reading the Jesus Storybook Bible and I am amazed at how much you are able to comprehend. The stories are long, yet they hold your attention and you often ask to read another one! It is a special treat for you to read your Bible each night and I love that. Today we got a new book, an anthology of stories, and we sat and read for hours together. I think you would have sat for longer, but my throat was so hoarse after all that reading. I am so excited that you enjoy reading so much. I ask you lots of questions when we read. You like to answer “I don’t know,” but you usually do know the answer! You are so smart! Sometimes a little too smart =)

You have your daddy’s sense of humor for sure. You are always saying funny things and making us laugh. You are quite the jokester.

You are totally potty trained now! We took a little break when I wasn’t feeling well, but a few weeks ago I decided I didn’t want to buy pull-ups anymore. We switched to underwear and within a few days you were telling me when you had to do pee-pee. You say it in this cute little sing-songy voice and I love it!

Speaking of your voice, it has definitely changed. We are noticing that you don’t sound like a baby any more. You have a little girl voice now! (Although you love to pretend to sound like a little baby now!)

You’ll always be our baby though! We love you so much. I can’t remember what life was like without you. I love every minute of being your mama!
