Thursday was the last day of the fall session at the Little Gym. So, Daddy, Genevieve’s two grandpas and one grandma came along to class with us to see Genevieve’s progress! Of course Genevieve loved to show off!
John video taped almost the entire class- I think he was a proud daddy! For the group activity we played with the sticks. All of the babies had thin sticks but Evan (the instructor) had real drumsticks. Genevieve knows all about drumming from her Uncle James, so she had Evan hand over his sticks to her! She couldn’t just drum with any old sticks. Even the “audience” got into this part of the class. Here they are making bunny ears with their sticks:
There is Genevieve’s Grandma all the way on the right and standing behind her are both of Genevieve’s grandpas. Notice that Grandpa Coco is still wearing his hat and jacket!
Genevieve showed everyone all of the skills she learned throughout the session, like tumbling, hanging from the bars and a back handspring! Here she is walking on the balance beam with Grandpa:
At the end of the class there are balls and bubbles. The children all love playing with the balls and popping the bubbles. This time they particularly enjoyed popping the bubbles on one another’s heads!
To celebrate their achievements, each child received a special certificate. We were very proud of Genevieve! It was her very first award! This is Genevieve with her instructor, Evan. He is the owner of the Little Gym of Merrick.
Genevieve loves going to the class so much that we signed up for next session. As soon as we walk in the door to the gym she starts running around and climbing! It is a great place for her to exert some of her boundless energy. If only we could go every day!
