It was a snowy day and the girls wanted to play. It was too cold to go outside…
… so we brought the snow inside! I spread out a big beach towel on the kitchen floor, brought out all of Genevieve’s beach toys and filled up the baby bathtub with snow. (The tub was Aunt Jeri’s idea- wasn’t it a good one?)
The girls had so much fun! We gave them spoons to pick up the snow and they had a great time transferring it to the other containers.
We made snow balls…
We shoveled snow…
And then it was time to paint!
We gave Genevieve and Jean Marie paintbrushes and we used some food color to make some green snow paint. The girls had a blast dipping their brushes in the paint and painting the snow green. It kept them busy for a long time. Here is the finished product. There is a lobster on the left and a castle on the right.
After all that playing in the snow, Genevieve took a nice long nap. When she woke up I started to feel guilty about denying her the privilege of going outside to have the full snow experience. So I bundled her all up, put on her snow boots and out we went!
I put Genevieve down in the snow and she didn’t move. I think it was because she couldn’t! The snow was deeper than I thought it would be. I sat Genevieve down in it and she did not like that at all.
After about 2 minutes of being outside we were both ready to come in. Indoor snow definitely beats outdoor snow! I enjoyed getting to play with the snow while being toasty and warm. You can see that Genevieve was not loving the outdoors!
