Cow Time

We picked up some books about cows from the library a few weeks ago and Genevieve has been having a ball reading them. I can’t believe how much she knows about cows now! Today we did a little cow art project.

I cut out different sized squares and we used them to make a cow. We also made some grass for her to eat!

Genevieve did really well using the glue stick and had a lot of fun. At bedtime she kept saying. “when daddy comes home he will see the cow.” She was really excited about this project. When we finished she said, “I made it!” This really encouraged me to try some other simple art projects with Genevieve, especially now that the weather is getting colder and we will be spending more time indoors. The only problem will be finding a place to put it all!

Ballerina Time!

Genevieve has been talking for days about dance school and today was the day! Her exact words were “I be a ballerina!” She has been so excited about going to dance.

We dressed her up this morning in her tights and pink leotard. Oh how precious she looked! And she thought so too- she couldn’t get enough of looking at herself in the mirror!

There were three other little girls in the class and they all looked so cute.

Genevieve got to dance around, go through the tunnel, tumble or slide down the “cheese,” sing songs and play the tambourine. She loved it and can’t wait to go back. Actually, while we were in the waiting room, she took off her jacket and tried to get back in the room. She was very disappointed when she found out that she couldn’t!

Another fun day- but it was so good to be home this afternoon. I think that many of my favorite times with Genevieve are just relaxing and playing at home together. Especially since Genevieve is very willing to give me lots of kisses and hugs when I ask for them. (Which is very often, of course!)

Genevieve is 21 Months Old!

21 months! Oh please, stop going so fast!

Genevieve, you are just turning into a little girl right before my eyes. Sometimes I look at you and you still look like my baby, but other times you seem soooo tall and grown up looking.

Your hair is getting longer and it is very curly. Especially in the back. The front is just kind of wavy looking but the back has these precious little ringlets. You don’t like it when I comb your hair! You run away from me. You will wear bows and headbands in your hair but sometimes you take them out. I guess it depends on your mood!

You are talking up a storm! You speak in full sentences and I am amazed every day at how well you speak. You even use prepositions like “inside.” You still say cute little things like “baby suit” for bathing suit. You don’t really say the l sound so “look” is “yook.” I love that. You are always saying “yook, mama” to me. It is so cute.

You have a big girl bed! We took the side off of the crib and you love playing in your big girl bed now. Sometimes you will even sleep in it! =) Just kidding. You sleep there every night. And at naps. (but you will only take a short nap in there.) Your favorite thing to do is say “I’m falling” and tumble off the bed or do a back handspring off of it. Lately you have been jumping on it and landing on your butt. You find that quite amusing!

DSC_0003{I think you were singing here… or maybe complaining!}

You like playing with your alphabet puzzle and you notice letters everywhere. You know a lot of the letters already and are learning some of the sounds. We play with that puzzle every day together.

You climb. On everything. All the time.

I can’t take my eyes off of you for a second. You love to climb up on top of the dining room table and dance. You climb on your little table too. You are always climbing on something.

{a puzzled look! You are quite expressive!}

Genevieve, you are always singing! Especially when you are supposed to be going to sleep. You just keep yourself entertained! You sing a lot of different songs- lately you love the alphabet song, Ring Around the Rosie, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star… You also like to sing “Get Down Boogie Oogie Oogie!” (We sing it when you have a boogie!)

You are so affectionate and I love it! I love it when you hug and kiss me. It is the best thing in the world. And I love you!
